Black Canadian Child and Family Services Society
Mission Statement
The Black Canadian Child and Family Services Society exists to protect, strengthen, and uplift Black children and families through culturally responsive child welfare services, prevention programs, and community-rooted supports that promote safety, dignity, and long-term stability.
Family Supports
These programs are dedicated to empowering Black families by providing culturally responsive resources, education, and support services. This program focuses on strengthening family bonds, enhancing parenting skills, and addressing systemic barriers that impact Black families. Through community-driven initiatives, BCCFSS fosters resilience, stability, and well-being for families at every stage of life.
Culture and Community
This program is designed to celebrate, preserve, and promote Black culture while fostering a strong and connected community. This program provides opportunities for cultural expression, education, and collective empowerment through events, workshops, and initiatives that honor Black heritage and identity
Seniors
This program is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Black seniors by providing culturally relevant services, social engagement, and wellness support. This program fosters community connections, promotes healthy aging, and ensures that Black elders receive the respect, care, and resources they deserve
Trauma & Stabilization Support Services
This program provides culturally responsive support, coordinated resources, and advocacy for Black children, youth, and families who have experienced violence, harm, or systemic barriers. We ensure individuals receive trauma-informed, dignity-centered care while strengthening safety, stability, and pathways toward long-term well-being.
Child Welfare
This program is dedicated to supporting Black children and families involved in the child welfare system by providing culturally responsive advocacy, resources, and interventions. This program works to prevent unnecessary family separations, support reunification efforts, and ensure Black children in care receive culturally competent services that honor their identity, heritage, and well-being
